West Ham manager David Moyes insists he has had no contract talks despite the club’s impressive form in the Premier League.

Moyes has guided the hammers through a difficult series of matches and up to fifth place after three consecutive victories.

But the scotchThe current contract runs out at the end of the season and owners David Sullivan and David Gold are expected to act to change that soon.

Moyes, however, has insisted that, for now, he has not taken any steps with his superiors about his future.

“We have not had any contract talks at this time,” he said at Friday’s press conference.

“But all I can say is that when I came back I wanted to do a good enough job to show that I was worthy of a contract. I wanted to try that.

“I’m not in a hurry to do anything because we’re doing very well, I don’t want there to be anything that takes it away.

“All the players in the club have to prove themselves every week and if we decide to leave the contracts a little longer, it shouldn’t have any effect on them either.”

West Ham welcomes former Moyes club United manchester on Saturday in what will be the first Premier League game with fans present since March.

In fact, the last time a fan was at London Stadium was to see a 1-0 loss to Arsenal.

Moyes added: “I have to say it has been really weird not having fans, but I don’t know if it will be even weirder to have only 2,000 back in a 60,000-seat stadium.

“We just want the fans to come back. It is a start and the club has done a very good job making sure everything is safe and ready, just like other clubs because we are fully aware of our responsibilities.

“Overall it’s great. I’m sure some people will be disappointed not to have a ticket right now, but there will be others who will be very excited to play again.”

Forward Michail Antonio will miss out on United after suffering another hamstring problem against Aston Villa on Monday.
