The new Tusker FC signing Charles Momanyi has appreciated the influence Gor Mahia had on him when it comes to coping with the pressure and playing fearlessly.
The experienced defender recently joined the newly crowned champions of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League and signed a two-year deal. He believes the bond between the new players and the existing ones will be stronger as he aims to win a league title with the Ruaraka-based side.
‘It’s about teamwork’
“I feel good to join this amazing team, Tusker is a great team in Kenya that has won several trophies like Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards,” Momanyi told the club media department.
“First I want to thank Gor Mahia because they gave me a chance to play for a great team [from Kakamega Homeboyz]. Tusker is also a great team, which is an advantage for me because I have no pressure or fear.
“I know how to absorb any pressure that may come my way.”
What are Momanyi’s goals in the Caf Champions League?
After securing the right to represent Kenya in the continental task, Brewers’ first task will be to get past AS Arta from Djibouti. What does the former K’Ogalo player want to achieve?
“Football is about teamwork. Tusker has good players. Those who have been there have won the league and there are others who have just joined like me,” Momanyi continued.
“So we go together, share the experience and help the team reach the set goals. My main goal is to win the league with Tusker.
“When we get to the continental level, we want to give our best, even if it will not be easy. Working together as a unit will help us reach far in the competition.”
Tusker has so far confirmed the signing of Patrick Matasi, Kalos Protus Kirenge and Ibrahim Joshua. More purchases are expected over the next few days.
