The 25-year-old has received recognition from the African body after his top performance against the African champions in Mkapa
Simba SC winger Luis Miquissone has been named best player of the week by the Caf, after the Mozambican scored the winning goal for the Msimbazi giants during their Champions League home game against Al Ahly, when they beat the Egyptian giants 1-0.
Miquissone’s goal came in the 31st minute after he exchanged passes with midfielder Clatous Chama, before unleashing a right-footed shot from outside the box that edged Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy into the squad before sinking into the net.
The 25-year-old has brought his social media pages welcome Caf’s decision to choose him as the best player of the week.
“I am the Caf Player of the Week,” wrote Miquissone with his photo celebrating the goal against the African champions.
Simba has also saluted the player for the honor of bringing his social media pages to say: “Luis [Miquissone] has been named the best player of the week by Caf, this is the year for Simba ”.
In a recent interview, Simba’s media officer Haji Manara warned teams who are salivating for his services to be ready to shell out a million euros for his signing.
Aim understands that Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly are among the clubs willing to sign the player, but according to Manara, Simba will only let the player leave if a club pays 1 million euros for his signing.
“You know that many people ask about Luis [Miquissone]He is a very special player with a lot of potential on the field ”, explained Manara.
“Now we know and we have seen what he can do after his exploits during the Champions League, so those interested in his services must plan to get his services, they do not have to say that they want him without action, they must plan because there is a player it will cost them millions.
“I want to make it very clear that Luis is currently under contract with Simba and his final offer cannot be less than one million euros, that is the last offer that Simba will accept for the player to leave.
“Today’s world spends more in euros so its offer cannot be less.”
In a separate interview, Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane named Miquissone and Kenyan defender Joash Onyango as his most prominent opposition players.
“Simba managed to play tough and defend well for the full 90 minutes,” Mosimane said. “They were careful to save all the dangerous balls that entered their goal, the dangerous players were number 11 [Luis] and 16 [Onyango]. “
Other teams reportedly keen to sign Miquissone are Tout Puissant Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bel Belizizadad from Algeria and Al Hilal from Sudan.
