Man Utd deal collapses in eleventh hour despite everything being ‘done’

Two sources have confirmed that a Man Utd change in the front rows has fallen through after a cruel fateful turn in the eleventh hour.

The impending return of Cristiano Ronaldo has given both the club’s players and fans renewed optimism for the current campaign. The Portuguese icon will be received with a hero reception when you step foot Old Trafford grass, though his return will pose an obstacle to the club’s younger talent.

Now, according to trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, the agreement is extinguished. The Italian tweeted that the contact ‘definitely collapsed’ due to the injury. Details of the exact nature of the damage are still scarce. Although Romano confirmed that it was a ‘muscle injury’.

Per Dutch outlet AD (via the sun), Feyenoord’s technical director, Frank Arnesen, also confirmed that the move had collapsed.

“He was injured, it has been canceled,” Arnesen said.

“It’s a shame, everything was done. I’ve talked a lot with people at Manchester United, but it’s more sensitive to let him get into that club. It may take a while before he returns. ”

Pogba jokes that Ronaldo is returning

Meanwhile, David de Gea admitted having Ronaldo back at Old Trafford would be “like a dream”, while Paul Pogba offered a one-word joke about the icon’s return.
