Manchester United are reportedly facing competition from Crystal Palace, as well as RB Leipzig and Leicester City for Schalke’s excellent defender Ozan Kabak.
The 20-year-old Kabak joined Schalke 18 months ago after making the switch from national rivals Stuttgart in a deal worth £ 13.5 million, according to Transfer market.
Since joining Schalke, Kabak has appeared in 37 matches in all competitions and also has previous Champions League experience from his four years with Galatasaray.
The talented young man who operates primarily as a center-back but can also serve as a defensive midfielder has become one of the best-rated defenders in the Bundesliga.
After having six caps under his belt, Kabak has recently become a transfer target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United.
According to a recent report by the Daily mailUnited’s interest in Schalke’s 20-year-old Turkish defender has been matched by Leicester City and RB Leipzig, with the latest club to join the race is Crystal Palace.
It has been reported that Kabak could be available for as little as £ 25 million and given his versatility and youth, any proposed transfer could prove to be a bargain.
The Daily Mail claims that even though Crystal Palace shows great interest in United’s goal, any move will depend on Roy Hodgson being able to get rid of the current defenders, including 30-year-old Mamadou Sakho.
