For Neil Lennon, the sands of time have surely hit the bottom of the glass.
After a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone, Celtic’s streak was extended to just two win in their last 12 games.
They might seem more reliable on defense, but this time around, the attack didn’t even go off as the Hoops struggled to create and ultimately fell further behind their arch-rival Rangers.
Ten in a row now seems nothing more than a chimera to the Bhoys, an unattainable vision that fades as each week passes.
However, one of the worst aspects was that not even Tom Rogic could help his team. The Australian has sported a rejuvenated character this season, scoring two goals and registering three assists, proving to be one of the few bright sparks.
However, on Sunday afternoon, he was poor and his contribution will have left Lennon furious, something that was evident in the fact that Rogic was removed at 68 minutes.
Should they fire Lennon?
Well keep it
In doing so, he left the pitch it has failed to make a single key pass. Playing the role of number 10, it wasn’t surprising that Celtic struggled so hard to create.
The 27-year-old had just one shot, which went wide, and produced a solitary precise cross.
Also, Rogic just won 25% of their combined air and ground battles. This was a bad day at the office for a man who has generally been so dependable this period.
However, he struggled to get going, as did the rest of his team. Could someone like Olivier Ntcham have made a difference in that role? Unfortunately, we will never know.
While this shouldn’t be the end of the road for Rogic in the starting XI, it should be the end for Lennon. Your training just isn’t getting enough of this gear.
He has to go.
