Liverpool are reportedly set to reaffirm their long-term admiration for Duvan Zapata with a bet on the Atalanta striker in the summer.
Shoe they faced Liverpool in the group stage of the Champions League this season. He didn’t score in any of the encounters, but that hasn’t put off potential suitors.
In Serie A this season, Zapata has scored nine goals and has five assists in 23 games. He’s halfway to matching his 18-goal tally from last season.
Zapata, one of the best forwards in Serie A, is attracting the interest of the Premier League.
Liverpool they have come up short in defending the title so far this season. It seems impossible that they can retain the Premier League trophy.
Injuries on defense have not helped his case, but neither have his attackers been themselves. With that in mind, they may need to reinforce their front line.
According to Todofichajes, Zapata has now become a target for the summer.
The Reds are believed to be longtime fans of the Colombian, but have yet to make an offer. This summer might be the time to change that.
However, Zapata will not come cheap. It is suggested that it would cost at least 60 million euros.
That may mean Liverpool would have to sell one of their three forwards to accommodate him. But if great deals come in, they might consider their options.

Mane jumps in defense of Firmino
While there may be some dissatisfaction with the Liverpool forwards’ output this season, their quality is not in doubt.
One of those key cogs has now jumped to the defense of another, with Sadio Mane protecting Roberto Firmino from criticism.
“He deserves more credit than me and Mo [Salah], Safely. But it’s part of football, always seeing the goals scored, ”said Mane. ESPN Brazil.
“But I think without Bobby I don’t see myself or Mo scoring as many goals as we do, to be honest.
“It makes everything easier for us. Brazil is lucky to have Firmino. I always tell Bobby ‘you have to change your nationality and maybe come to Senegal’, which for me would be a dream!
“I love him and he is my favorite teammate.”
