Liverpool are said to have “ made a big impression ” on Kylian Mbappé when discussions about a possible transfer took place in 2017.

The France superstar is often mentioned alongside Liverpool, though ties are rarely credible with Real Madrid often seen as the most likely destination should he leave Paris Saint-Germain.

According to L’Equipe via Sports witness, FSG’s John Henry took the player and his family on a private jet tour of the Bay of Nice that is said to have lasted about two hours while the conversations were on the air.

In the end, the forward decided to stay in the country of his birth.

In the past, Mbappé has praised the Reds and their coach Jurgen Klopp in particular. Speaking last year, he said through the Echo of Liverpool: “They’ve made winning look easy, but it’s never really easy. Gigs like the ones they’ve had don’t just happen.

“Being as ruthless as they have been would come from a lot of hard work in training and having a very good coach.”

Mbappé’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain will expire in the summer of 2022 and he has not yet signed an extension. With the player in such high demand, it could be that those interested in his services are already unofficially making contact with their representatives.

Liverpool already have plenty of attacking talent like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota, who joined from Wolves last summer, but the addition of one of the world’s greatest talents in Mbappé would take them to another level.
