Liverpool champion Roberto Firmino has been tipped as the key to unleashing the attacking potential of Manchester United pair Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
While the Reds have been at their excellent best this season, they have red devils have boiled up in front of goal. Jurgen Klopp’s men have scored 75 goals in the Premier League compared to just 48 for Ralf Rangnick’s team.
Two United stars who have fought especially for the form have been Rashford and Sancho.
But former midfielder Kleberson believes they could get back to their best if Firmino was signed this summer.
He told Paddy Power: “Roberto Firmino’s style would suit Manchester United, especially the way he plays for Liverpool.
“For the Brazilian national team he plays higher up, but for Liverpool he is a little deeper.
“He’s learned so many things from Jurgen Klopp and he’s so smart on the pitch.
“His move to create space, or sometimes to take up space, allows his teammates to do just that.
“If Manchester United wanted to make a change, he is a good player who can help, especially with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho on the wings.
“Firmino can help these players create space when they are on the attack.
“That’s the type of player Manchester United should look at. A player with Firmino’s quality can help release the team.
“He’s a great player and he wanted to be a good fit and a good signing for Manchester United.”
Liverpool could regret the departure
Firmino has dropped from appearing in the Liverpool squad this season ahead of the expiry of his contract next summer.
An injury kept him on the sidelines for an extended period towards the end of last year and again from February to March.
But when he was encouraged by Klopp, he has proven that he is still a top talent at the age of 30.
As he is now behind Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz in the red pick order, his departure seems inevitable.
But it could be a bad business move for Merseysiders if United choose to act on Kleberson’s advice.
