Liverpool is interested in signing Sevilla Alfonso Pastor Vacas, according to AS. The Spanish publication report has claimed that Real Madrid is also looking at the 20-year-old goalkeeper.
Pastor made his first-team debut with Sevilla just this week. The youngster was in goal, as the La Liga team suffered a 4-0 loss to Chelsea at home in Group E of the Champions League. Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud scored all four goals for the Premier League club.
Liverpool have Alisson as their first choice goalkeeper. The Brazilian international is a world-class custodian and is unlikely to be evicted from his post anytime soon. Pastor is a promising young goalkeeper, and Liverpool may see him as a possible successor to Alisson. The Reds are tied with leader Tottenham Hotspur for second place in the Premier League table and have also advanced to the knockout stage of the Champions League this season.
