Inter Milan are planning a January bid for Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul after reasons for the collapse of his move to Leeds United emerged.
Paul was a major target for Leeds before their return to the Premier League earlier this year. They were prepared to break his transfer record for the Argentine.
But nevertheless, despite De Paul’s hints that he wanted the move, nothing happened. Since then he has started the season in good shape with Udinese, recording two goals and one assist last month.
After the summer transfer window closes in October, there were rumors that Leeds could relaunch their efforts to sign De Paul in January.
However, their hopes of doing so have been affected. According to Todofichajes, Inter Milan are ready to do something for him, and it could prove to be the most tempting destination.
The report details a two-way battle between Juventus and Inter to offer De Paul the next step in Serie A. He has played in Italy since joining Udinese in 2016.
Now, you are ready for a challenge at a higher level. Juventus appeared to be the 26-year-old’s main suitor, but Inter could now get ahead.
The website claims that Juventus will not be able to pay an advance payment for De Paul in January. If hired, it would have to be a loan with a purchase clause.
On the contrary, Inter are more likely to have funds available, giving them the opportunity to present a better offer to Udinese. It is suggested that they are willing to put 35 million euros on the table for De Paul.

Paul is not convinced of Leeds
Leeds, however, seems to have been left out of the equation. The report adds that De Paul “had doubts about the project, not about the salary,” hence his move to Elland Road does not take place.
However, the midfielder seems destined to get going soon, as Udinese know that his “goodbye is near”.
If Inter makes the 35 million euro offer, Udinese is expected to accept it immediately. That means the Nerazzurri are now the “big favorites” to sign De Paul.
In turn, that could be another sign that Inter will move Christian Eriksen in January. Things have not gone as planned for the former Tottenham star since he left for the Italian club in early 2020.
Arsenal and Manchester United have linked up with the player, but Tottenham has no interest in getting it back.
Still, Inter are looking for suitors to cut their losses at the Danish international. who they have admitted is not “functional” in Antonio Conte’s system.
