Leeds United are back on track for Julian Draxler, while Manchester United have a Sevilla defender in their sights and a rival Premier League club wants to land Gini Wijnaldum, all in the papers.
LEEDS CHASE DRAXLER AGAIN
Paris Saint-Germain striker Julian Draxler is once again a Leeds United target.
The Germany international was interesting in Leeds last summer, but they were unable to strike a deal to lure the 27-year-old across the Channel.
Now however Gazzetta dello Sport claims Leeds have once again emerged as potential suitors with Draxler set to go free next summer.
Leeds could face competition from Hertha Berlin, but Andrea Radrizzani is keen to give Marcelo Bielsa some extra quality to his team.
Draxler, who recently admitted that he almost left PSG for a new challenge, has played nine times, scoring two goals and one assist this season.
The player is free to speak with foreign clubs in January and his contract will end in June 2021.
In October, Draxler admitted that he considered moving, but couldn’t find a situation that would suit him.
“In the summer I thought I’d try to do something else,” Draxler said. Due to the coronavirus situation, it was ultimately difficult to find a club where I would have said: ‘Everything fits well, I definitely want [come here]’.
“That was not the case, so I decided that I would not dare to take a quick shot and keep looking for my opportunity in Paris.”
