The Portuguese star posted a message on social media after reaching the milestone against Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League

Cristiano Ronaldo thanked “loyal players, coaches and rivals” after the Juventus star scored the 750th goal of his remarkable career.

Ronaldo reached the milestone with a single shot in the 57th minute of Juve’s 3-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in their Champions League Group G clash on Wednesday.

It was his 75th in all competitions for Juve after his move from Real Madrid in 2018, where he scored 450 goals.

The 35-year-old, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, reached that huge total for Madrid in just 438 games across all competitions, following his then world record at Manchester United in 2009.

During his six-year stint at Old Trafford, he scored 118 times for the Red Devils.

Ronaldo, who recently surpassed the 100 goal mark for Portugal, becoming the second male footballer to reach a century internationally after Iranian Ali Daei, is comfortably Madrid’s all-time top scorer, with 127 goals more than the legend of Los Blancos, RaΓΊl. whose loot came from 741 appearances.

Despite missing several weeks into the campaign after testing positive for coronavirus, Ronaldo has been in good shape this season, having scored eight times in just four Serie A starts, though his goal against the Dynamo was only his second in the series. Champions League this season.

Following his historic achievement, Ronaldo used his official Twitter account to thank not only his teammates and coaches (he has worked with the likes of Alex Ferguson, JosΓ© Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane), but also his opponents.

“750 goals, 750 happy moments, 750 smiles on the faces of our fans,” he wrote.

“Thank you to all the players and coaches who helped me reach this incredible number, thank you to all my loyal opponents who made me work harder and harder every day.”

Ronaldo will now set his sights on goal 751 when Juve take on Torino on Saturday – he has scored three goals in his four Serie A appearances against city rivals the Bianconeri.
