Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has identified Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembele as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, aagrees to Mundo Deportivo. The report in the Spanish news media has claimed that Klopp is worried that Salah will leave at the end of the season and wants to pick up French Dembele if he leaves.
Salah is one of the best players in the world and is a key figure in Liverpool. The Egyptian national team striker has been a major figure in the Reds, having won the Premier League and Champions League in recent seasons. However, the 29-year-old is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the 2022-23 season and there is no new deal in place.
Dembele is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season and Liverpool may be able to sign him on a fee transfer in the summer of 2022. The Frenchman is a revived figure at Camp Nou now and plays well for Xavi’s team. Dembele have scored one goal and delivered seven assists in seven La Liga starts so far this season.
