Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles has cut a lot of big contracts since he arrived. Here are three more candidates he could cut to free up space after June 1st.

After a bad 2021 season, the Chicago Bears decided to clean house and get rid of general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy. At the end of their search, the Bears hired Ryan Poles as their new general manager. Poles was a highly coveted candidate this offseason as he was also a finalist for the New York Giants opening.

Poles have not wasted any time so far into the low season on freeing up money and freeing up cap space. So far, he has cut people like Eddie Goldman, Akiem Hicks, Nick Foles and Tarik Cohen.

Although most of the major contracts are gone, there are still opportunities for the Poles to free up more money after June 1st. Here are three cut candidates.

Bears cut candidates: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB

Last year, Bears signed Jeremiah Attaochu to a $ 5.5 million two-year contract by former general manager Ryan Pace. The linebacker only played in five games for Chicago last season due to a torn chest muscle. During that time, Attaochu recorded two combined tackles and one quarterback stroke.

With a new regime, that usually means they want their own staff there. They already spent a fifth-round pick this year at Miami at Ohio’s defensive end, Dominique Robinson.

By releasing Attaochu from its June 1 deal, they would release $ 2.45 million in cap space, per capita. Spotrac.
