The Ravens running back, JK Dobbins, claps back to Ian Rapoport on Twitter after reports that he was “not safe” for Week 1 of the 2022 season.

Less than half an hour after NFL Networks ‘Ian Rapoport reported that the Baltimore Ravens’ running back JK Dobbins was “no sure thing for Week 1,” Dobbins clapped back on Twitter:

Clearly, Dobbins is tired of the speculation surrounding his status. His guarantee of being “probably ready for week 1” after a knee injury kept him out of his entire second season is somewhat contrary to Rapoport’s information, but what better source is there than the man himself?

In fairness to Rapoport, he made it clear in his report Monday morning that Dobbins had not been subjected to any setbacks and that his recovery was on the way. The focal point he highlighted in his claim was that the Ravens staff, to his understanding, had no intentions of rushing Dobbins back to the field.

The Ravens and their fans have a lot to look forward to if JK Dobbins can play an entire season in 2022.

Baltimore took all necessary steps to ensure they would be able to play their football brand to start the season, with or without Dobbins or his backup Gus Edwards, who suffered a similar injury before the 2021. Campaign veteran Mike Davis and Beginner Tyler Badie was added to the mix this offseason to help carry the load if Dobbins and / or Edwards missed time.

Dobbins, who is chiming in to counter Rapoport’s claims, should fire Ravens fans for a number of reasons.

First of all, they definitely have a guy in Dobbins who is committed to his craft and is hungry to get back on the field. The seriousness of his injury could very well have kept him out, as Rapoport said earlier, well into the regular season of 2022. Second, if Dobbins actually is ready for competition in week 1, it will be the relief from the injury error – which plagued the Ravens last season – that fans are definitely waiting for.

It’s unlikely – knock on the tree – that the Ravens are suffering as badly as last year from injuries this season, and the ground-and-pound offense that fans are accused of should be back on screen. Apparently with Dobbins in the lead.
