Tottenham are in an unlikely situation at the moment.
Heading into the January transfer market, they are in the running for the title and, as a result, Daniel Levy and José Mourinho cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
Which is the word?
It seems the Spurs want to increase their attack line this month.
However, the most striking report of all has been on Paulo Dybala. The Argentine has been relentlessly inclined to join Spurs and almost did so in 2019 if it weren’t for image rights.
90min reported last month that Tottenham representatives have been contacted about a possible move by the attacking midfielder.
However, now there has been another update on the future of Dybala. According to Tutto Sport (via Soccer Italy), Juventus will let him go on one condition.
Should the Spurs sign Dybala?
Juve has offered him a new contract in Turin but if he does not sign it, he could leave before the end of the season.
By Transfer market, the 27-year-old is currently valued at a whopping £ 63 million.
Change of game
To put it bluntly, Dybala’s performances have plummeted this season.
I had only scored one time before December and as a result was being ripped apart by the Italian press. Fortunately for Juve and the player himself, he recently rediscovered his prime and has two goals in his last three outings.
It has been a timely return to form for a man who has now put himself firmly in the shop window.
Dybala has always been an impressive talent, mainly due to his dribbling and ability to cut through tight situations. Alessandro Del Piero once described him perfectly: “He is a player of extraordinary quality.”
He can change games in an instant and enjoyed a very productive campaign last season, scoring eleven and attending six. When it comes to creating chance, there are few better than Dybala, someone who accumulated 2.1 key passes per game last season and 1.8 the key passes a match on this term.
Imagine what that kind of serve could do for a player like Harry Kane. He is already a phenomenal striker, but could improve even more if the dynamo of Juve is acquired.
The Spurs must ignore Dybala’s irregular form this season and do their best to finally get him to North London.
It could do wonders for your title aspirations.
