Arsenal legend Ian Wright has highlighted a major problem for Manchester United following their frustrating 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion.
The Red Devils have struggled in the Premier League for the last five games, where they have only accumulated six points in the process.
Their away form has been splendid this season and they are currently the only undefeated team in their travels across Europe’s five major leagues.
Despite this, their displays have not always been convincing and quite often they have conceded the opening goal before amending themselves for points.
It was a similar trend Sunday when Mbaye Diagne scored in the second minute for the Baggies before Bruno Fernandes tied with a splendid left-handed volley.
Harry Maguire received a penalty shortly after the hour, but the referee overturned the decision after watching the replay on the field-side monitor.
The Red Devils were in the mix for the title a few weeks ago, but are now seven points behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
The club have been the kings of the comeback on the road this season, but yesterday they could not replicate the same in the Hawthorns.
Shortly after the game, Wright said the Red Devils need to find a solution to their slow starts that have contributed to them conceding early goals.
He told Match of the Day quoted by Meter: “It would be a concern for me if I was a Manchester United fan, how slow the games start. When are they going to tackle that?
“Harry Maguire was talking about a foul on Victor Lindelof [for the West Brom goal], but [Diagne] Win the ball for me, I just wanted it more.
“They [Maguire and Lindelof] They were intimidated by the great center forward today. Manchester United were very lucky not to lose that match. “
United are scheduled to face Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 to be played at Juventus Stadium on Thursday.
Both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire were not at their best against the Baggies and the former could have done better to restrict the opening goal.
Eric Bailly is back in the fight after overcoming a shin injury and could return to the starting lineup to join Maguire in central defense.
La Sociedad have recently revived their campaign with the return of David Silva after a series of injuries and United need to be in their prime to win the first leg advantage.
