USWNT icon Alex Morgan has called Taylor Swift an “ inspiration, ” and her closeness dates back to the 2015 Women’s World Cup victory.

The pair are known to admire and respect each other, but considering they come from two completely different worlds, how did their camaraderie begin?
Aim check out.
How are Taylor Swift and Alex Morgan friends?
Swift is among the most successful female pop musicians in history, so it’s no wonder the star of the United States women’s national team is a staunch fan.

Morgan and her teammates, who brought the trophy, flanked the stage as Swift introduced them to the audience, with the pop singer herself triumphantly holding the trophy in celebration at the end.

In 2019, Swift also accepted the Icon Award at that year’s Teen Choice Awards from host Morgan.
The duo’s friendship resurfaced when Morgan was speaking to the press during a USWNT media session in Orlando, Florida, in February 2021, expressing his admiration for the pop star.
To the delight of several journalists during the session and the chagrin of many others, Morgan spoke enthusiastically of the singer’s upcoming album, a recorded version of her 2008 hit album ‘Fearless’..
“This is the best news I’ve ever recorded that she re-recorded ‘Fearless,'” Morgan said. “As if half of you don’t even know what we’re talking about now, but [I’m a] Big fan of Taylor Swift and I love what she is doing.
“She is a great inspiration to me, so I am very happy for the news.”
Morgan revealed that he listens to Swift’s music “every time” she drives with her husband, Servando Carrasco, in his car, and Carrasco is not entirely convinced of Swift’s discography.
“And he says, ‘Haven’t you heard her enough?'” Morgan continued. “I’m like ‘No! There is no such thing!’ So there it is. “
“We can keep talking about Taylor all this time.” “I totally agree with that.” He then recited his favorite songs from Swift’s most recent full-length work, ‘evermore’ – including “no body, no crime”, “marjorie” and “willow”.
“I feel like I play the whole album over and over,” he continued. “The album is amazing and now I’m so excited to go back and look at ‘Fearless’ because it said it has six new songs … added on ‘Fearless’.
“Right after this, I’m about to go see those songs. So yeah, I have to go guys.”
After the session ended, some journalists, as well as Morgan, were criticized for apparently talking about more than football.
Morgan took to Twitter to say that she was delighted to be asked questions that she would not normally have felt, reminding everyone that athletes have different interests than the sport they play.
Ask you questions about @ taylorswift13 and their new albums Evermore and Fearless during media availability was the highlight of my day. Talking about soccer is always great, but talking about one of the most influential and powerful women in the world is my cup of tea 🍵
