In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, former England midfielder Carlton Palmer backed Tottenham Hotspur manager José Mourinho to get rid of underdog Dele Alli during the next transfer window.
The 24-year-old faces big questions about his future in North London right now. He just started one of his ten Premier League games this term, and has also been excluded entirely from the team of the day in eight games.
Should the Spurs cash in on Dele Alli in January?
During the summer, the Spurs rejected loan advances from Ligue 1 champion and Champions League finalist Paris Saint-Germain, while it has also been reported that Daniel Levy is firmly against selling the England international next month.
However, Palmer believes that Mourinho may have the last word and has directed him to make the bold and ruthless decision.
He told FFC:
“Mourinho be Yard thaw decide.
“Are I will Yard a lot from football games, he is going thaw Yard thaw do a decision from either the can obtain Share There thaw To die what the wants the thaw To die.
“Yes the I can not obtain the thaw To die what the wants the thaw do, will let it go. He will let it go. He is no fearful thaw To die that. “
There, who wins around £ 100k per week at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he has been mostly limited to Europa League appearances in which he pocketed a penalty earlier this week so two goals and one asistence of their last four matches in the competition.
It’s certainly been a downfall for former favorite Mauricio Pochettino, as the two-time PFA Young Player of the Year hasn’t even appeared in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions since June 2019. 37th cap leading to their victory for third place in the UEFA Nations League playoffs.
Only time will tell if there is any way back for Alli this season.
