Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 to London rival West Ham on Sunday in the Premier League, their fifth loss in their last six games.

Goals early in each half from Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard gave the Hammers a 2-0 lead. Lucas Moura cut with a header with Gareth Bale as supplier.

The Spurs showed urgency and a positive approach in the second half when Bale replaced Erik Lamela. In the first half, they were mediocre and very slow with their movements.

Former Spurs player Graham Roberts took to Twitter to express his reaction to the London derby. He claims the Spurs should be the “slowest playing team” in the league.

Spurs are now struggling a lot in the league, and José Mourinho has admitted that it will be difficult for them to break into the top four.

Mourinho will be furious about some of the mistakes made by the players during the match.

For example, Eric Dier couldn’t clear Jarrod Bowen’s shot and Hugo Lloris fumbled that allowed Michail Antonio to score the first goal.

Lingard’s goal left the visitors with a great task, but even before that, the Tottenham players seemed completely devoid of ideas and lacked the confidence to advance.

The introduction of Bale paid dividends, but in the end it was not enough.

The Spurs are now nine points behind fourth-placed Hammers, although Mourinho’s team is one game behind their London rivals.
