Alexandre Lacazette spirit Pablo Mari hit early before Eddie nketiah made it 3-0 at halftime.

There were 2,000 fans in the stadium for the first time since March. And they didn’t have to wait long to see a goal. Lacazette scooped the ball into the opponent’s half and drove into the box before unleashing a powerful push.

That was after 10 minutes and he was 2-0 just eight minutes later. Mari got up in the box to go home Reiss nelsonrotating corner.

Mikel Arteta’s men seemed to gain confidence by the minute. Lacazette could have had a second in the 27th minute, but his low shot hit the post. At the half hour mark, Ainsley Maitland-Niles did all the hard work before dragging his shot out.

The fans were loud and raised their heroes to a third goal at the edge of the break. It was a ‘typical’ Gunners goal, with one touch football from the midline.

Nelson found Nketiah with the final pass and the 21-year-old forward saved it. The Gunners had good value for their halftime lead against a listless opposition.

Gunners put out

Vienna replaced Maximilian Hofmann and Maximilian Ullmann with Mateo Barac and Thorsten Schick in the interval. And it seemed to work when they removed one in 48 minutes.

Shkodran mustafi twice he cleared Kelvin Arase’s line but Koya Kitagawa stabbed home from close range. The goal seemed to shake Arsenal as the opposition began directing proceedings.

However, it didn’t last long when the Gunners reasserted themselves. At the hour mark both Ainsley Maitland-Niles spirit Nicolas Pepe Strebinger forced stops.

Arteta decided to change things in the 63rd minute with a triple change. Mohamed Elneny, Nelson and Lacazette were replaced by Dani Ceballos, Emile smith rowe and Willian.

It was only three minutes before the change had an impact. Maitland-Niles selected Smith Rowe, who hit home plate to make it 4-1.

Calum Chambers, who was out since last December, replaced Shkodran Mustafi in the 69th minute.

Ceballos tried his luck with a free kick late in the game, but Strebinger was up to the task.

It was an excellent Gunners display that will have happily sent fans home.
