Popular soccer expert Garth Crooks has praised Everton defender Michael Keane in his column for BBC Sport.
Everton produced a memorable Merseyside Derby to beat Liverpool at Anfield for the first time since 1999.
Keane was simply outstanding for the Toffees when they won 2-0 at Anfield, while Liverpool have lost four consecutive home games for the first time since 1923.
Goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson gave Carlo Ancelotti’s team all three points, but it is solid defensive performances, especially from Keane and Ben Godfrey, that made the difference between the two sides.
“One of the main reasons for this latest loss was the performance of Michael Keane. This was without a doubt the best game I have seen him play for Everton, ”said Crooks.
“His recovery after Andrew Robertson squeezed a reverse pass through his legs for Sadio Mane was out of this world.
“The Senegal international was about to pull the trigger when Keane made the best tackle with one foot you have ever seen and at a crucial moment in the game. This was an outstanding performance for Keane and historic for Everton. “
The Athletic journalist described his performance as ‘impeccable’.
However, Michael Keane. Almost flawless

The BBC’s chief soccer writer Phil McNulty also praised him on Twitter.
I have criticized Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after his mixed form, so it is correct to say that he was outstanding today, absolutely flawless. The same can be said for Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey. Tom Davies also excellent.

It was an incredible defensive display from Keane, who made 13 punts during the game, the most of any Everton player in a Premier League game this season.
Keane initially struggled at Everton and at one point it seemed the transfer didn’t work out well for him. However, Carlo Ancelotti completely transformed him.
The former Burnley defender has been nothing short of sensational with the Italian, and it was arguably his best performance to date for the Merseyside club.
