Steve Howey, former Premier League center-back, said exclusively Soccer FanCast that Arsenal are in trouble with Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal are heading into their disheartening weekend showdown with champion Manchester City who are still seeking their first point and goal of the new Premier League season after back-to-back losses in the league.
Would you like to see Quevin Castro as a starter against Arsenal?
Arteta’s Gunners opened the new campaign with a trip to the newly promoted Brentford on Friday Night Football, but it turned out to be a pitiful performance and they were deservedly defeated.
Another 2-0 defeat followed for the North Londoners against capital rivals Chelsea nine days later, meaning they find themselves in the relegation zone for this first leg of the season.
They grabbed a morale-boosting Carabao Cup win over a young West Brom team midweek, but a place in the top four already seems beyond Arsenal, with the season only two weeks old.
Howey was asked for his reaction to the miserable opening of two accessories, and he was exclusively told Soccer FanCast:
“One of my friends is an Arsenal fan and obviously the Brentford game was an absolute disaster.
“Against Chelsea, in the end they were playing with Arsenal, but they did not collapse, although that is a team that seems to have players, especially Aubameyang and Lacazette, who do not look happy.
“So he has problems there and he has to change it very soon.”
