Expert and former Arsenal forward Kevin Campbell says Gunners manager Mikel Arteta should be decisive in the January transfer window and send three stars on loan.

Sead Kolasinac’s loan to German Schalke has already received the green light.

And Arteta has stated that downloading players is a priority.

With that in mind, Campbell has identified three Gunners players who would benefit from having more first-team action elsewhere.

The trio consists of Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, and Joe Willock.

In spite of Arsenal Fighting for goals, substitute forward Nketiah has started just three Premier League games this season.

However, it has been effective in cup matches. The 21-year-old, who was on loan at Leeds last season, has scored three goals in the Europa League and one in the EFL Cup.

He also scored on the Premier league beat West Ham in September.

It’s a similar story with Willock, who has three goals in the Europa League. But he has started only twice in the Premier League and came off the bench three times.

Nelson has seen just 70 minutes of Premier League action this season. Once again, it has been used more in Europe.

Campbell says all three must play more to gain experience that would benefit Arsenal in the long run.

Campbell said Football Insider (via The subway): “Some of these gifted and talented youngsters have to play soccer regularly.

“Once they play regular football, they will be much better when they return to Arsenal.”

Campbell says regular football is crucial for development

Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock

Added Campbell: “Being a minor player is one thing, but regular games, regular starts make a big difference to a player’s psyche.

“They told me that Reiss Nelson, possibly Joe Willock, could be loaned out in January. It would be really good for their careers.

“I think Nelson could go to a Premier League or a championship club. But the Championship is tougher, that could be a better play.

“Nketiah got a great assist against Southampton and Mikel Arteta is just trying to find the right balance.

“It really is difficult. I think Nketiah needs a season under his belt playing regular football.

“It’s one thing to get into Arsenal from time to time, but you never get experienced that way. When you play week after week, you learn so much more.

“It didn’t really start during his loan period in Leeds. Nketiah You should borrow to learn your trade, you really should.

“He’s not going to start at Arsenal very often, so what does he do? Are you happy just sitting on the bench?

“Once he learns his trade, he will be a different player because he knows where the goal is.”

Nketiah made 17 championship appearances for Leeds but 15 of them were from the bank. He scored three goals during his time at Elland Road.
