Everton have completed the acquisition of Dynamo Kiev left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko.

The Ukrainian national team player has signed a four-year deal at Goodison Park and will be Toffees’ first signing of the January transfer window.

Mykolenko has represented his country on 21 occasions and was part of the squad that reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2020.

In a speech to Everton’s official website, Mykolenko said: “Moving to Everton is a big and important step in my life.

– I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League. English football is where the match was born and I think it will fit very well with my game.

“I’m 22, but I do not feel like a young man. I have experience playing at European level and I hope I will continue to improve as a player.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to play in front of our Everton fans. I’ve seen the last couple of games at Goodison Park and they were incredible.

“They are incredible fans for whom I feel a great responsibility.”

The deal comes amid rumors that Lucas Digne is on his way to Chelsea, with reports suggesting the Blues are chasing a loan deal for the French international.

Digne has been a mainstay in Everton’s ranks since joining Roma in August 2018, but has fallen out of favor under Rafael Benitez.

Chelsea are looking for reinforcements after losing Ben Chilwell to a serious knee injury for the rest of the season, with Marcos Alonso their only other recognized option in the position.
