Everton have reached a very specific deal with Juventus over striker Moise Keane’s exit, caused by Cristiano Ronaldo joining Man Utd, it has been claimed.
Kean has been strongly attached to the front door all summer. He has only been one Toffees plays for two years, but he has struggled to settle on Merseyside. As such, the writing has been on the walls for a while now. What has been in the air is who he wants to join.
It was largely a two-man race between a pair of European heavyweights. Juve, the club where Kean grew up, is always mentioned next to his name.
Paris-Saint Germain, however, was his loan target for last season. And he impressed them in France during the campaign.
He scored one goal every other match in Ligue 1 and also scored three times in the Champions League.
Earlier in the summer the 21-year-old was stuck on their goal list. But since their influx of great talents, their interest has cooled.
Juve therefore had a clear road to Kean. And now Ronaldo’s exit from the club have come into being, they have hit.
Target report the Italian side has agreed a deal with Toffees. They say the deal will be a two-year loan, which will be permanent subject to certain conditions.
These conditions are not known, but it is almost certain that Kean will never ever take on Everton’s blue kit again.
Juve was only interested in a loan agreement for Kean and has got their wish. Since the Italian international was so young and displayed such potential, a fee would be significant.
He has three years left on his Everton deal and the old lady simply could not afford to buy him this summer. Therefore, Everton will have to wait to get their money back.
A loan in, a loan out in Everton
Meanwhile, Toffees are hoping to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan from Arsenal ahead of the transfer window, says a reliable source.
Rafa Benitez is looking for a right-back, and the 23-year-old England is hopefully on their radar, according to Sky Sports News.
Arsenal are believed to be open to letting the versatile player leave again on loan.
Last season Maitland-Niles spend the second half of the season at West Brom. He played most of his games in central midfield, but Everton want the player as a defensive option.
