Edouard Mendy has been the talk of the town lately, and for good reason, but he’s not the only Chelsea goalkeeper to impress.
Frank Lampard must have been very frustrated to see Kepa Arrizabalaga cost him points weekly, no doubt. He showed no mercy by recruiting Edouard Mendy de Rennes and firing the Spanish international.
Mendy has been a revelation so far, keeping nine clean sheets in all competitions, and the percentage of those remaining in the Premier League puts him at the top of England’s standings, and he was late.
Mendy, while currently operating as the backbone of Chelsea’s defensive line, is not the only Blues goalkeeper making a big impression right now, and I’m sorry Kepa, it’s not you.
He’s actually the product of the academy Jamie Cumming, who is currently on loan at Stevenage and statistically the best goalkeeper in League Two, which is no small feat for a goalkeeper of just 21 years.

Cumming has an uphill task to get to Chelsea, as all goalkeepers do at any elite club, but Dean Henderson is competing with David De Gea at Old Trafford, and that would have been unthinkable a few years ago.
If you continue to progress and perform in this way, who knows what the future holds?
