The 2022 NFL Draft is a day away and here we take a look at our final race in our final 2022 NFL Mock Draft heading into Thursday night’s action.
The time has finally come when the NFL arrives in Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2022 NFL Draft. It’s been a wild ride this offseason, with big name players landing in new positions in free agency and via trades, and now the latest group of men will join the professional ranks starting Thursday night.
Here we take one last look at what the 2022 NFL Draft first round could look like.
2022 NFL Draft: Edge rushers dominate our last Mock
Aidan Hutchinson
edge, Jacksonville Jaguars

We start with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have had the No. 1 overall throughout the offseason and who have not moved out of it. Last year, the Jaguars had the first pick and selected Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and here they turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball.
This is a draft class that begins and ends with the edge-whistling talent and they take the best defensive end in this year’s class in Aidan Hutchinson. There has been a lot of buzz about Georgia’s Travon Walker, but in the end, Hutchinson is the choice.
Travon Walker
edge, Detroit Lions

To live with Travon Walker, what a draft of the season he has had since he has thrown himself into the conversation of going with No. 1 overall. It is certainly an option as he has more than enough talent to be the first player to be taken, but here he lands just outside that spot at Election No. 2 overall.
Walker is the kind of edge rusher you can build your defense around, and the Detroit Lions lack that kind of playing talent on that side of the ball. He’s going to be able to play all over the field for Dan Campbell and be a star right out of the gate.
Ahmad Gardner
Cornerback, Houston Texas

The Houston Texans have had an interesting offseason when they finally swapped Deshaun Watson away and got a drag of draft picks in the process. They will now pick twice in the first round in 2022, and with their overall pick No. 3, they take on a guy who many feel is the best player in the draft class.
That player is Sauce Gardner of Cincinnati, who is not only the best cornerback in the 2022 class, but possibly the best defender. Gardner fills an instant void in this Houston defense as they continue to try to rebuild into a challenger in the AFC South.
