Joel Embiid winner breaks Raptor’s hearts, and NBA Twitter loves it
A 911 call made by Dwayne Haskin’s wife the night the Steelers quarterback tragically died reveals sad details of what happened.
The circumstances surrounding Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins’ death became a little clearer after the Broward County Sheriff’s Office released a 911 footage from that night.
The recording is from a call made by Haskin’s wife, Kalabrya, to 911. She called emergency services, according to ESPN, because she had not heard from her husband after he said he would walk away from his vehicle to pick up gas.
Unfortunately, going out to pick up gas explains what Haskins was doing on his way across Interstate 595 when he was hit by a dump truck. The final accident report showed that the player was also partially hit by another car. He died on the spot.
911 calls shed light on Dwayne Haskins’ tragic death
rule the authorities that the driver of the dumper did not contribute to the accident.
Haskins’ death shook the NFL world two weeks ago. He was in Florida, training out of season with some Steelers teammates and preparing for a quarterback competition later this year.
A star in Ohio State, Haskins was drafted by Washington, but his time there offered more downs than ups, and he was eventually released. Pittsburgh gave him a chance to revive his career. When Ben Roethlisberger retired, Haskins would have had the opportunity to compete for a starting job after spending the 2021 season as a reserve with the team.
Unfortunately, his life was shortened less than a month before what would have been his 25th birthday.
