San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel revealed that angry 49ers fans are sending him messages about races and death threats in connection with contract negotiations.
The San Francisco 49ers may have thought they had another year with Deebo Samuel on his rookie contract, but Samuel believes the organization should reconsider his worth. For that reason, Samuel recently removed photos and mentions of the 49s on his Instagram as he negotiates a lucrative contract extension.
According to Samuel, the same 49ers fans who cheered on him while dazzling like an integrated offensive weapon now send him death threats and racist insults.
“To all you fans in the DMs who send death threats and racial things: it does not bother me, bruh,” said Samuel. “It does not,” he repeated.
“You were all the same people who just hugged and ‘Go Deebo’-ing, and now it’s you who are sending death threats and all the racial stuff you’ve got. It does not bother me, bruh. I’m cool, I’m relaxing of, I’m happy. ”
Deebo Samuel faces death threats and racist comments from 49ers fans
The eternally competitive 49ers wide receiver looked forward to a division without Russell Wilson, stating that the conference has slowly become easier through the offseason. While Bobby Wagner is also away from the Seattle Seahawks, it is unfortunate for Samuel that he will have to stay in the NFC West with the Los Angeles Rams.
Instead of trying to leave the 49ers, it looks like Samuel is taking advantage of his worth, as Kyler Murray recently did when he pulled mentions of the Arizona Cardinals from his Instagram. Since the end of March, Samuel has left a series of cryptic tweets that may be all about his team.
As Samuel prepares for the first major negotiation of his NFL career, 49ers fans could heed his advice: it’s best to be calm while Samuel and the 49ers resolve it all.
