Champions League giants Juventus have reportedly contacted one of Thomas Tuchel’s favorite Chelsea stars as they aim to complete a summer woop.

The Italian side are in the process of rebuilding under Max Allegri, after their domestic dominance ended last season. Inter, then led by Tottenham’s Antonio Conte, won the league title by 91 points.

Juventus, on the other hand, scraped into the top four and finished just one point ahead of Napoli in fifth place.

Their fortunes are not exactly getting better this time. 15 matches in they are on seventh and are 12 points behind leading Napoli.

Reports suggest that Allegri wants a squad overhaul in 2022, which could see Weston McKennie switch to Premier League. The American national team player is a target for people like Tottenham and West Ham.

Selling players like McKennie could allow Juventus to fund a switch to Chelsea’s Jorginho. Caught Offside, quoting reports coming out of Italy, says they are big fans of the 29-year-old.

He has had a fantastic year, which includes winning the European Championships, the Champions League and the Super Cup. With these performances, Jorginho finished third in the latest Ballon d’Or rankings of Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Man Utd striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus have approached the player and his agent and informed them that a move is available if the Italian national team player wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

A transfer may fall in line with the star’s ‘dreams’ scenario. Earlier this year, representative Joao Santos said of Jorginho: “He has a contract with Chelsea until 2023. It would obviously be a dream for him to return to Italy, hopefully after winning the World Cup.

“We’ll have to see what the market looks like in a few years and what the other situations are.”

Jorginho became a top player in Napoli before Chelsea came in for his signature in 2018. The Brazil-born ace has continued to play 159 games for the Blues in all tournaments and scored 21 goals.

Chelsea ‘can go really far’, says Zola

Meanwhile, former Chelsea man Gianfranco Zola believes the West London team has a good chance of lifting the title this season.

Their most recent outing was a 2-1 win over Watford, with Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech coming on target.

After the game, said Zola: “We saw today that they did not play their best, but they managed to win and score two goals.

“It makes me feel good that it looks strong everywhere. They can bring in players and they change the game. They can go a long way with this team. “
