Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is increasingly being viewed as the next Premier League technical dismissal.
The Blues boss appears to be in real danger as Caught offside reported yesterday, and the latest odds from Ladbrokes bookmakers reflect it.
Lampard’s side lost 3-1 at home to Manchester City yesterday and their strong start to the season form has left them completely in recent games.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich doesn’t usually show too much patience to coaches, having gone through a long list of different coaches since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2003.
Lampard, of course, is a club legend, which can help him, but surely only as long as he can continue to underperform after spending so much on new signings in the summer.
Ladbrokes now has the 42-year-old as 8/11 to be the next layoff in the Premier League, ahead of other fighters like Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder and Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “To be frank, Chelsea have been in terrible shape lately and as they continue to slide down the table and away from their fellow title contenders, it only increases the chances that the Lamps will be sent packing. “
