Rumors on Twitter have tentatively linked Chelsea to a move by AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract will expire in June.
The Blues spilled on Edouard Mendy at the end of the summer transfer window, and Kepa Arrizabalaga continually proved unworthy of being trusted by manager Frank Lampard.
Mendy has made that position his own between the sticks at Stamford Bridge, and initially it seemed almost impassable. However, a recent wobble from the plug has raised questions about whether he is the long-term online solution for the West London giants.
One man who certainly would be, if Chelsea could come to terms, is Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Italian international burst onto the scene as a teenager and, at just 21 years old, is one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A.
He is out of contract at the end of the season, which means that any interested club can negotiate with him as a free agent starting today. Rumors on Twitter have linked Chelsea to a move to sign him.
Just been said by @ExWHUemployee (the source who broke the news to Mendy) that Chelsea have started talks with Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and they hope to persuade him to join the club this summer when his contract ends! pic.twitter.com/ZAF1e8uk9z

How respectable these claims are remains to be seen, but if this is the case, it would not be a surprise to see a move on it this month, but Milan is certainly eager to get at least some money in exchange for Donnarumma if he decides to leave.
