Chelsea are reportedly the latest club to show interest in the possible transfer of Brighton defender Ben White.
The 23-year-old has shone in the Premier League with Brighton this season, and he also drew attention when he was on loan to Leeds United last season.
This has led to White joining Liverpool for World Sunday in recent times, as well as with Manchester United for the Manchester evening news.
Now objective claims Chelsea are also looking at White as one of their central defense targets for January, and he could certainly be a useful signing to give Frank Lampard a boost in the second half of the season.
The Blues have seen their form fall in recent games, but they started the campaign brilliantly after a great summer of spending on players like Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.
However, more quality might be needed on defense, as White is likely to be an improvement compared to Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Still, Liverpool have a lot of injury problems at the rear at the moment, so they might also urgently need to bring in someone in January to boost their hopes of retaining their title.
Meanwhile, Man Utd has struggled on defense for a long time despite spending heavily on players like Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof of late.
The Red Devils don’t seem that far from being able to compete with Liverpool right now, but it sure takes a signing like White to make them stronger on defense.
It will be interesting to see which of these top teams can win the race for White’s signature.
