Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could head to Napoli on a permanent transfer in the summer after his loyalty to the club this season.
The French international has endured a difficult few years since moving to Chelsea from Monaco in 2017, after being put on loan several times without managing to secure a permanent contract elsewhere.
It seems highly unlikely that Bakayoko has a future at Chelsea, but now he seems to be performing at a high level with Napoli so far this season.
His agent has now told Radio Marte, as quoted and translated by objective, as if to say that a permanent transfer to Napoli will be the player’s priority in the summer.
“It is too early to talk about that (a permanent move), there are many things to consider,” said the player’s representative.
“He is on loan until the end of the season and has not yet spoken with the club, but staying at Napoli would be a good opportunity, so we’ll see.
“He has played for many clubs, but he is happy at Napoli. The results are there and this club would be an ideal option for the future.
“Napoli are contenders for the title; a positive ending is in everyone’s interest. Napoli will be his priority in June. “
Chelsea fans are sure to be relieved that Bakayoko is finally on his way, and the Blues will surely need to trade in some of their unwanted players to free up money on the salary bill and raise funds for new signings.
