Carlo Ancelotti has praised Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, suggesting that he has been the “most improved” player this season.
The 23-year-old forward has been a reborn player since Ancelotti joined the club. From a fringe squad player under Marco Silva, he has become a key player at the club and recently made his England debut as well.
Ancelotti feels that of all the Everton players, Calvert-Lewin is the one who has improved the most. Not only has he scored a lot of goals, but his overall game has improved tremendously.
The Everton forward has been in very good shape this season, managing 11 Premier League goals, and is improving with every game.
“The player who improved the most was Calvert-Lewin, especially because he scored a lot of goals in this period,” he added. said Ancelotti to the Liverpool Echo.
“I can say it, but the performance of other players was really good, so to speak. [the best] It’s really difficult but, in the end, the player who improved the most was Calvert-Lewin ”.
Calvert-Lewin have not scored in the last two games against Chelsea and Leicester City, and will look to score when the Toffees face Arsenal at Goodison Park this weekend.
Everton started the season brilliantly, winning four games in a row, but lost their way a bit after the international break in October. It seems they have now regained their momentum having won back-to-back league games.
Ancelotti feels that the new signings have made a big impact and that Everton are aiming for European spots this season.
The Toffees have a tough streak of games this month. After the game against the Gunners, Ancelotti’s team will face Manchester United, Manchester City Sheffield United and West Ham, and the results of those games could have a major impact on their ambitions.
