The Tampa Bay Buccaneers move on from Bruce Arians after the head coach decided to retire. Here’s how fans react.
There is an absolute whirlwind of retirements happening with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers these days. Sometimes star quarterbacks retire. Sometimes they retire. Now it looks like Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians has decided to call it a career as he moves in
The movement is monumental to the Buccaneers. The Arians, who helped Tampa Bay get a Super Bowl victory, are moving away from the sidelines and into a role in the Buccaneers’ front office. It will help create some continuity for this franchise.
Adding to this sense of continuity is the fact that Todd Bowles will be the Buccaneers’ head coach.
Here’s how Buccaneers fans on Twitter react to the shocking news.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans react when Bruce Arians decides to retire
The 69-year-old Arians has been a coach at a wide variety of institutions. From being the head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies and Mississippi State Bulldogs to serving as the head coach of the Temple Owls, Indianapolis Colts (on a temporary basis), Arizona Cardinals and now the Buccaneers, the Arians have done a bit of everything throughout their careers.
While it makes sense that he would move into a different role given his age and how long he has been doing this, the move is still astonishing to many. Tampa Bay is able to keep winning. The Buccaneers have a good roster and a quarterback who will definitely be in the Hall-of-Fame. People do not tend to retire while at the top.
But that’s what Arians do. He calls it a career and moves on to something new. Now we’ll wait and see how it all develops for the Buccaneers.
