Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers provided a fitness update on James Maddison following the club’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League yesterday.
Maddison has been in good shape for the Foxes throughout the season and recorded his 11th goal of the season to open the scoring against the Villans.
Unfortunately, he was unable to last the full 90 minutes and was replaced shortly after the hour mark due to a concern in the hip area.
Speaking after the game, Rodgers confirmed that Maddison was recalled as a precaution after suffering a blow to the hip.
“It’s just his hip. He had a problem with that last season. He just felt it in a corner he took, so we’ll see how he is in the next few days. “ he said lcfc.com.

Maddison has had another good season with the Foxes and has posted 10 assists along with his 11 goals in all competitions.
The England international has formed a strong attacking partnership with Harvey Barnes and the duo have excelled in recent months alongside James Vardy.
He suffered a hip injury last season that ruled him out of the last six league games and that cost the Foxes dearly as they lost in the top four.
Rodgers said the decision to replace him was precautionary. Hopefully, there is nothing serious and the 24-year-old can return to action as soon as possible.
