Marcelo Bielsa praised the fight that Leeds showed against Arsenal, but admitted that they still have a way to go to match the best teams.
Leeds they lost 3-0 in the first half of their journey to face Arsenal, and fell back shortly after the break.
Unexpectedly, they made their way back into the game, scoring two goals. However, that was the end of his return; lost 4-2.
The result means that Arsenal jumped Leeds to the top half of the table. However, the key moments could have led to a different result, Bielsa believed.
Overall though, I was glad they had competed well against a superior team, not for the first time this season, even if they are still not at their level.

“In the second half we started better but we conceded another goal. We fought hard to get back in the game.
“We could have gotten the first goal and this could have made the end of the game different.
“Pascal Struijk played well. [Luke] Ayling played well, especially in the second half. Spirit [Jamie] Shackleton produced a sufficient display as a side.
“We have not managed to close the gap to the most important teams in the Premier League. We have to keep in mind that we face [Manchester] City, Arsenal and came back against Liverpool several times. “
Leeds could not avoid Arsenal’s threats
In a separate interview with BBC Sport, Bielsa admitted that Leeds knew about the threats posed by Arsenal, but still couldn’t avoid them.
He added: “In the first half we should have prevented them from scoring three goals. If we were more organized in possession we could have had a different result.
“In the second half we shortened the margin with two goals, but we conceded the fourth goal and had a chance to score the third, which means that the end of the game could have been different.

“We couldn’t push their build up and we couldn’t avoid their pressure when we were trying to build from behind. You could clearly see that the opposing coach prepared the game better than me.
“We knew what we had to avoid so that the ball did not circulate so comfortably and we prepared to do it but we could not avoid it. We can’t get the ball from our half to his.
“There were three actions that could have deserved a goal and when the difference is only one goal, everything is possible. In any case, we were unable to score the third goal and this option was lost ”.
