The French winger, whose current contract expires in 2023, has addressed ongoing speculation about his future.
Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman has spoken out about transfer rumors linking him to Manchester United and Manchester City.
Coman has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom since making his senior debut for Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
The Frenchman joined Juventus a year later, where he managed to win a Serie A and Coppa Italia double before signing on loan from Bayern.
The German champions exercised their option to buy Coman outright at the end of that two-season deal, and he has since established his reputation as one of the most effective wingers in European football.
The 24-year-old has impressed despite dealing with a series of serious fitness issues at the Allianz Arena, and his best moment for the club to date was in last season’s Champions League final.
Coman headed home with Bayern’s winning goal against Paris Saint-Germain when Hansi Flick’s side hit a hat-trick, but it was strongly linked to a move away from the club thereafter.
Premier League giants United and City have been credited with an interest in the winger in recent months, with the latter yet to secure a long-term replacement for Leroy Sane, who completed a trade to Allianz in July. .
Coman is flattered to have appeared on the Manchester duo’s radar, but has no intention of leaving Bayern before the expiration of his current contract.
“It’s good to know that good teams are interested in me, it gives me more confidence,” said the French international. SportBild.
“But I have a contract here until 2023, I’m only thinking about Bayern. It’s all good, I’m happy …”
Coman went on to admit that he feared for his place on the Flick team after Sane’s arrival at Bayern, adding: “I had a feeling it could be used less often. I’m 24 years old, that’s an age I have to play!
“Fortunately, my fear did not come true.”
When asked if he had embraced the additional competition for places in Bavaria, Coman replied: “Leroy is very good, we play City differently, he will just fully internalize our DNA. There are four of us fighting for two positions, we are partners, but of course, we all want to play as much as possible.
“Right now I’m in a good mood, but maybe that will change in two months. Maybe then Leroy, Serge [Gnabry] or Douglas [Costa] will play. It is important that at least two of us are always in top shape. “
The former Juventus striker concluded by expressing his belief that Bayern is capable of dominating the Champions League for years to come.
“We are young or in our prime, so we still have time! We can and want to defend the title, ”Coman said.
“Between 2016 and 2018, Real Madrid won the Champions League three times. I’m sure we can mark an era with this team.”
