Barcelona will soon host its presidential elections and candidates such as Víctor Font, Joan Laporta and Rousaud are considered possible precursors in the race to assume the position. All potential candidates have great promise from rebuilding the club to signing the Galactic.
Having said this, a report from TodoFichajes claims that Rousaud has promised the signing of Erling Braut Haaland if he wants to be elected as Barcelona’s next president. The Norwegian has been on the radar of many major clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United.
However, Rousaud promises to have the upper hand due to her ties to Mino Raiola. He is Haaland’s agent and the Italian businessman has great influence in deciding the forward’s future.
Barcelona currently lacks a suitable number nine after the departure of Luis Suárez. Antoine Griezmann has played for the center but so far it has not been of any use. Martin Braithwaite has acted admirably on occasion, however the Catalans need a stable and reliable scorer.
Who else but Haaland to take Suarez’s place? Like the former Liverpool striker, Haaland is two-footed, strong in the air, explosive and physically stronger than most central forwards.
However, there is a catch in the bid to sign Haaland. Barcelona are currently facing an economic crisis, which means that the club will have to fire one or two players before they can sign Haaland. Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele or Antoine Griezmann, any of the three forwards could face the ax to make way for the Dortmund ace.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also very interested in signing the 20-year-old forward, as Kylian Mbappé seems to be moving further away from the Santiago Bernabéu. Who do you think will get their hands on Haaland first?
