Barcelona’s presidential candidate Emili Rousaud could reportedly have a pre-contract agreement on the possible transfer of Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.
This is according to a report from Brand, which names Haaland as the vice-presidential candidate for the Rousaud player, whom Josep Maria Minguella is believed to have alluded to during an interview on transfers.
The Norwegian international is one of the most exciting young talents in the world after an exceptional recent scoring record, and he would certainly be a good signing for this struggling Barça.
However, it is not entirely clear why Marca is so convinced that Haaland is the player Minguella is referring to, as his quotes don’t seem to reveal anything about which player he has in mind.
“It is a person with a current contract [at another club] and we have to be discreet, ”Minguella quotes Marca.
“What we will not do is filter the news. That is very good for the newspapers and very bad for the club.
“Every time you blurt out a player’s name, for example, add another million in [to their price tag]. Discretion is key. “
With Lionel Messi’s form upset of late, Barcelona could use a goalscorer like Haaland in their ranks, with the 20-year-old enjoying an impressive record of 33 goals in just 32 appearances for Dortmund. in all competitions since he joined.
Barcelona fans will no doubt hope there is some truth to this slightly odd transfer report.
