Keita Balde was on the scoreboard when Sampdoria secured a 2-1 win over Fiorentina in Sunday’s Serie A match.
The 25-year-old made his sixth start in the league since joining the blue circle team on loan from French club Monaco.
The Senegalese international had an impressive performance in the game, scoring his fifth league goal of the season.
Balde’s effort helped Claudio Ranieri’s men get back on the winning track after losing to Juventus and securing a draw against Benevento.
The Senegalese winger opened the scoring in the 31st minute of the match with a good header after receiving a sumptuous assist from Gastón Ramírez.
Six minutes later, however, Fiorentina tied the procedure through Dusan Vlahovic, who shot home his effort from close range.
Fabio Quagliarella then scored the winning goal in the 71st minute after Antonio Rosati enabled him.
Balde participated for 89 minutes in his twelfth appearance in all Sampdoria competitions before being replaced by Mehdi Leris.
The victory ensured that those in blue circles moved to 10th place in the league table after accumulating 30 points in 22 games.
Sampdoria are the second club Balde has played on loan since joining Monaco in the summer of 2017.
The forward played for Inter Milan in the 2018-19 season and despite impressing during his time with the club, he did not receive a permanent contract.
Balde hopes to continue his scoring performance with Sampdoria when they face Lazio in their next league game on February 20.
The forward is a key member of the Senegal national team and has made 30 appearances for the West African national team since his debut against Niger in 2016.
