The ‘Ice Cream Makers’ have six straight games without a win after another draw at the Chamazi Complex

Azam FC were winless under new manager George Lwandamina after Ruvu Shooting drew 2-2 in a Premier League match on Friday.

The Zambian manager arrived at the Chamazi giants two weeks ago to replace the sacked Aristica Cioba and his first match in charge saw the team tied 2-2 at Namungo FC.

The Ice Cream Makers took a well-deserved lead in the 34th minute when forward Ayoub Lwanga headed home from a corner kick, but Emmanuel Martin leveled things for Ruvu in the 53rd minute.

Azam regained the lead in the 60th minute when Mudathir Yahya shot home from close range, but the goal was not enough to end his losing streak as Fully Zullu Maganga ensured Ruvu took a tying point in the 70th minute .

It was the sixth game in a row Azam has gone without a win and his strong start to the season has now caught fire.

Azam started the season on a flying note, winning seven straight games, and also enjoyed the 18-team table lead before they began to unravel after losing 2-0 to KMC.

The tie will leave them in third place with 28 points, while Yanga is first with 37 points from 15 games and champion Simba SC, who beat KMC 1-0 on Thursday, is second with 32 points from 14 games.

In other games played on Friday, Biashara United battled to a 3-0 win against Mbeya City. Christian Zigah was Bishara’s hero when he scored a double in the 10th and 25th minutes before Derick Musa scored the third in the 68th minute.

Meanwhile, Kagere Sugar also scored a vital victory after beating Coastal Union 3-1.

The Sugar Millers had to come back from a goal down after the Coastal Union took the lead in the 45th minute when Abdul Suleiman scored from the penalty spot.

However, Kagera rallied to level things out in the 56th minute through Nassor Kapama before Peter Mwalyanzi made it 2-1 in the 73rd minute, and Sadat Mohamed sealed the victory with a good shot in the 80th minute.
