Amad Diallo has been photographed in Carrington on his first day at Manchester United after arriving from Atalanta.
The 18-year-old winger officially signed for the club in January, signing an excellent contract until June 2025.
Diallo had made just five senior category appearances with Atalanta before being pulled from the Serie A squad by the Red Devils, and will wear the number 19 jersey at Old Trafford. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not expected to immediately throw him into the first team fold.
“After waiting since the summer, it is finally a dream come true to complete my move to Manchester United,” Diallo said after completing his move. “I am extremely ambitious and there is a lot I want to achieve in the game, when I spoke with the coach I knew that I had joined the perfect club.
“This is a really exciting team with so many great players, I can promise that I will work hard every day to learn from them and give my all to develop my game. The coaches have been fantastic since I signed, we have been in regular contact and they have already given me a lot of good advice.
“I have had time to prepare for this move, both physically and mentally, and I have worked very hard to be ready to take the step towards this incredible club.”
Diallo joins United with the club in high spirits, having beaten Liverpool at the Premier League summit on Tuesday night with a win over Burnley.
However, Solskjaer has admitted that he is unsure when fans will first see his new signing on the field.
“As a club we have followed Amad for several years and having seen him myself, I think he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game,” said Solskjaer (via Daily mail).
“Manchester United have such a proud history of developing young players and everything is in place to allow Amad to reach his potential here. It is important that we give him that time to adjust, whether in the U-23 or if he seems ready to He makes the first team, I don’t know yet. “
