AC Milan are currently enjoying one of their best seasons in recent times, leading the Serie A table while remaining undefeated in their first 14 games.
With their first Scudetto since 2010/11 in their sights, the Rossoneri are eager to add more firepower in the final third in the next transfer window. According to the Sun UKThe Stefano Pioli side is keen to get the signature of Crystal Palace standout Wilfried Zaha, who is currently enjoying a great campaign at Selhurst Park. The Côte d’Ivoire international is on his way to the best season of his career, having already racked up eight goals in just 14 appearances for Palace.
There has been a group of clubs interested in speedy advancement in the last year and a half, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham previously linked. However, Zaha was in bad shape last quarter, scoring only four times, which certainly spooked would-be suitors.
He has moved to a more central position for Roy Hodgson this season after playing mostly away. However, the change has paid off immensely for the 28-year-old as he has been flourishing in the final third. Zaha scored a wonderful volley in a 1-1 draw with Leicester on Monday, adding to his already impressive goal total.
Milan have been without their top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic for over a month, but it hasn’t really hurt them. They have still found results and even secured a 3-2 win over a quality team from Lazio last week. But Pioli still wants more attacking prowess and with Zaha looking to be at his best, this is the player they want.
Their current deal with Crystal Palace runs through 2023 and they have done a good job of avoiding any interest due to its high price for Zaha. At this point, it’s only Milan’s interest, as no actual deal has been discussed.
He’s the type of player who could fit into any team thanks to his versatility in the last third. Zaha is extremely creative with the ball at his feet and also has the ability to help a lot of goals.
It would be a dream for AC Milan to bring Wilfried Zaha to the San Siro in January, but Palace will not be willing to give up its main man unless a lot of money comes through.
