Green Bay could lose Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams to the Denver Broncos, who are considering a Packers assistant to their next head coach.
Speculation about where Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams will land should dominate the NFL offseason. After all, their decisions will change franchises like the Packers for better or worse.
A scenario is gaining traction thanks to Rodgers and Adams’ relationship with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Jordan Schultz posted it all for Game Day NFL:
Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams planning to create Broncos super team?
In a nutshell, the Broncos emerge as favorites to add quarterback and receiver because they have the necessary finances and trading assets to bring Adams into a sign-and-trade.
Why would Rodgers and Adams want to go to Denver? Because the Broncos may be on the verge of hiring Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach.
Hackett, who has been Green Bay’s offensive coordinator since 2019, has already conducted two interviews with the Broncos. If they hire him, he apparently has a good enough connection with Rodgers and Adams to potentially attract them. It seems he was not part of the Packers management team that frustrated Rodgers so much.
Rodgers barely returned to Green Bay in 2021 due to his persistent disagreement with the management of the franchise. He agreed to give it another chance, but the involvement has been that he would leave in 2022.
Adams is a free agent and his connection with Rodgers is well established. Although he could strike out on his own, there is an assumption that he could look to be reunited with Rodgers no matter where the quarterback lands.
