The Glasgow Rangers will want to continue their newfound momentum when they travel to McDiarmid Park to face St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.
Steven Gerrard’s team survived a scare early on the weekend as they had to come back to beat Motherwell at Ibrox and extend their lead over Celtic to 16 points at the top of the table.
What’s YOUR prediction for Glasgow Rangers vs St. Johnstone?
It will be a draw …
Saints win …
The Ibrox boss has not hesitated to rotate his team in anticipation of the busy schedule and faces some tough decisions before the Light Blues embark on the journey to Perth, with clashes with Aberdeen, Celtic and Hibernian on the horizon.
Here’s our planned starting lineup for tonight’s action, which sees Gerrard do three changes to the team that beat the Steelmen.
Allan McGregor will maintain his place in goal behind four unchanged running backs consisting of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic.
It’s difficult to determine which players will be forced to make room and that’s something Gerrard will continue to evaluate before kickoff, but he’s likely to bring first-team stars Joe Aribo and Ianis Hagi to the starting lineup, which means Scott Arfield and Glen Kamara will rest before the Hibernian clash at home.
The Ibrox boss will stick with the usual 4-3-2-1 formation, with Aribo, Steven Davis and Hagi making up his midfield three in the engine room.
This means that Bongani Zungu will have to settle for a bench spot, such is the strength of Gerrard’s squad at the moment.
With Alfredo Morelos serving a two-game suspension, Cedric Itten will likely lead the line flanked by the ever-dependable Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe, who left the bank to score against the Steelmen at Ibrox.
